My MATB1 had to be in 15 weeks before I intended to start my maternity leave. It wasn't (I'm the most disorganised person ever) and HR badgered me for it until I did it. I think if you're off sick they can insist you start your mat leave early, is that right?

@bubble, so have you not spoken to your boss previously about being preggers? It surprises me that hr just shrug it off when they are the ones ultimately that need to sort everything out .. Like the woman in my hr badgers me everytime I have an appointment or scan to get my form but I haven't been allowed one yet til I have my 26week midwife appnt!! Could be different I guess cos you work in a school!! Don't feel nervous though Hun cos at the end of the day as long as you have been employed by then for over 26weeks they have to honour your maternity leave and if they do have a problem with it you have rights to take them to a tribunal etc claim for loss of earnings etc so please don't panic its not good for you or bubba as well x

@bubble, hey.. You need to get your mat b1 form handed in ASAP to work I know some companies like mine want it in at least 15weeks before baby is due but don't panic too much as I think different companies vary but could be a good idea to give work a call and double check!! Plus they know you've been off sick and you can use the excuse that you've only just been giving the form by the midwife and they can't really say much about it but defo get the form in soon just to make sure you recieve your money on time !! Hope this helps 😊 xx
