That doesn't sound right my first appointment they did an ultrasound to know exactly how far along you are

Thats odd, never heard of group setting for a first ob appointment.. I definitely wouldn't feel comfortable telling my business in front of others.. smh... find another ob

I do the group visits, I can take a partner but no kids. ultrasound and heart beat are done depending on how far along you are.

My first appointment is June 1 and it's a ultrasound and blood for at 7wks 3days

No there is definitely something wrong there...find another ob hun

I have never heard of anything like that before. You should try a different ob.

my appointment isn't until June 10th I'll be 8 weeks by then, they said I can't have ANYONE with me, not even my boyfriend and that sounded odd to me.

My OB outsources their ultrasounds. So I went to a partner office 2 days after my appt! And heard HB and had my US!

since I'm military and due to my insurance my first appointment has to be with them then after that I can go to the other base. this seems outrageous to me

That sounds....different and weird. I'd switch OBs!

They might not have enough space but I love my group visits. I still get to see the dr one on one plus I get to share experience and make new mommy friends.plus I will get a free carseat and crib plus diapers etc.

That sounds extremely weird. They need to do an ultra sound to see how far along you are and they should at least let you bring 1 other adult

mine had that but it was for both mom and dad. it was a waste of time to me. just goes over do's and don'ts and answering any questions you may have

Well if it's driven by your insurance I don't know if there is much you can do. Kinda sucky 😕. I had mine at 8 weeks with my fiancé and had an internal ultra sound (saw the heart beat etc) and class after for general info. Good luck - I hope you find some ob that works!

They prob won't do an ultrasound until for at least 8 weeks, mine waited until I was 10 weeks but idk how I feel about the group thing I wouldn't want to talk about my personal medical history in front of strangers

Before my first obgyn appointment I had to go to a weird group thing. We didn't really discuss personal info but they gave us all huge binders with info on pregnancy and it's side affects and all the emergency phone numbers and nurse hot lines we could call and stuff like a chart of the meds we could take. They did a short speech on res flags for when to go to ER and that was it. But hubby was allowed to come we were all allowed to bring 1 person [not required but we could]

Wow that's really weird I didn't have to do that.. I guess where I live does things weird lol
