im soo stressed out in just days after giving birth my babygirl is losing weight im not even producing milk yet and my hubby wont let me give her formula because he wants to listen to doctors , i gave her water because i keep trying to breastfeed her but its not filling her up and he started freaking out , its like i have no say i know breastmilk is the best but she cant stay on my boobs 24/7 , i cry everytime im in the bathroom

Ya at like 8 months I gave my son water an the doctor flipped out! Really don't give the baby water. It can be very harmful

Water before 6 months can kill your baby DO NOT give baby water especially I'm replacement of breastmilk or formula. Not good not needed before 6 months. Babies lose weight after birth and gain it back within a couple weeks. Your milk will come in within the week and the less you nurse the less you'll produce and essentially you're kinda shootin your self in the foot if your plan is to breastfeed and you're not offering your breast any chance you get.
Let her nurse as much as possible so that it makes your milk come in...I gave mine a tiny syringe of formula (like 1 oz) in the corner of her mouth while she was still nursing so she thought it was from me, she got full, and your milk is stimulated.
Similac Supplements for Breastfeeding is good formula. I use it and also breastfeed because sometimes I don't produce enough.
Have u tried drinking the mother milk tea I hear that's supposed to increase ur milk supply

it's normal for babies to lose some weight after birth. my son lost 4-5 ounces & just got it back at a week old.
water will NOT kill the baby thats so wrong. & the more she feeds the more milk.you will produce hang in there mama. I breastfed til my boys were a yr & a half. the more they feed the more you will produce
Dont give her water. formula if u have to. water will kill the baby
He's not the one that has to breastfeed if she's not getting any for now I would honestly give her formula. I wanted to breastfeed both my boys but I never got milk, both my kids had formula and they are both healthy boys.

Not sure if I'm being just mean or what. But my SO used $160 from me this morning. I gave him my bank card because he needed $60 to get material for work. @irisedith, please don't give your baby water that can cause their brain to swell and she could die. Just use the supplement until u get ur milk in.
