It's not approved to used for pregnant women with nausea. It was suppose to be used for patients with cancer that get cemo. They've recalled it multiple times for causing defects to babys. I stopped taking mine immediately.
I've seen so many lawsuits and stuff for it. But I've taken it my entire pregnancy & am still taking it. I'm 24 weeks and my baby is completely healthy. I've been called a "bad mom" for gambling with my child's life, but I know so many people that have taken it and had no problems, & if I don't take it I'm in the hospital because I get so dehydrated. Also, the lawsuits are for high doses of zofran, most doctors only prescribe 4 mg. good luck!!

Don't be scared. I took it for 3 months before ei found out and my baby is okay, I was lucky I guess. but I started controlling my nausea by eating small frequent meals that I knew would not upset my stomach. Avoid spicey, citrus and greasy foods and try to stick to water! it helps. If you can't hold anything down right now then start on a brat diet untill you can. Which is bread, rice, plain apple sauce and toast. I really hope this helps! I had severe nausea and I was hospitalized twice for dehydration.
@I aitlyn.edwards, I have been hospitalized twice too in less than a week. So that's why I got it prescribed. I guess I am going to try not to take it until my body just can't do it. Mine is the 4mg and its every 12 hours as needed. Thank you.
Also, all the lawsuits are for women in their first trimesters. So if you are past your first trimester, you don't have to worry about it anyway. :) & if you get really sick without it, then I personally think you should take it. Remember, you have to be healthy for the baby too.
I would try to stay hydrated, rest and try to eat something small. but if it doesn't help turn to something that will. Just take care of that baby of yours :) that's all you can do momma!!
@faithfulness88, Make jello like you normally would. b4 u put it in fridge keep a small cup of warm liquid and sip on that. it coats your stomach and settles the acid in it.

I don't really think the doctors would prescribe it if it wasn't safe & every time I've been to the hospital for my dehydration that's what they give me... Fluids and zofran.

But I am trying my best to keep a positive mind. Thank you. And that's what I keep telling myself. Why will the Dr prescribe it if it is not safe? Confused!

They are all just there for the money. & @faithfulness88 water would be best on your stomach, the dye in the Gatorade could upset it. That's how I've been with it. I only take it when I need it, which is only once a day now, if that. But don't be sad! I was depressed too &I it ended up being all for nothing. If you need to talk, I'm here! Chin up!
