Same with my first... I was having labor pains for 30 plus hrs before they admitted me. I demanded the epi then. @kay80
I had epidural and it really helped the labor. Everything felt much easier after that. I dont think I could have given birth without epidural.

You wouldn’t get a filling done without local anesthesia, so why would you give birth without an epidural? There are so many options to help make birth easier and faster, it would be silly to not use them. Labor is painful, but it doesn’t have to be. Epidurals are a little gift we can give ourselves to help us through the single most difficult thing a woman’s body can go through. Interventions aren’t ideal, but if a little Pitocin and breaking your waters will speed things up, go for it!
@lajo, thats long time, I had to wait 20hours for getting my epidural. After that I felt like I was in heaven lol. I even slept before getting in labor.
