@jumpingjellybeans, if you ever need and advice/support with breastfeeding then just give me Shout. I've over 6yrs feeding experience and have trained as a lactation consultant. I totally agree women should not be ashamed for their choice be that breast or bottle but the right support with whichever choice they make can be invaluable 😀

Absolutely @zeld I completely agree, you need to do what fits in with you, what feels right. Breast or bottle at least your baby is fed and nourished and that is all that matters. Too often women feel belittled and discouraged by their choices and there is often so much pressure put on us at a time when we are so vulnerable. For example I'm quite insecure and the one time I breast fed in public was so afraid of some1 saying something. I wish I was braver. Well done @zeld for sticking with it. I hope this time I can get a good flow in. Both previous times have ended where I only produce out one breast and it looks obviously engorged and is embarrassing. Lol

I breast fed all of my babies. I can't bear the thought of messing about sterilising and making up bottles. breastfeeding means convenience as much as anything else for me. ready to feed at the right temperature at all times. I definitely believe that breastfeeding is a skill to be learned and it's a shame women are not taught more about it. At the end of the day you have to do whatever feels right for you and works for you and your baby.

I wanted to exclusively bf buty son had other plans. he would latch on and not suck, and even then it look him an hour to latch on..this was mentally and physically draining both of us. I ended up giving him s bottle in hospital to ensure ge was getting some sort of nourishment...I am now combined feeding, but he is getting alot more mummy milk than formula. it is hard work though as I am having to express all his breast feeds. x

Hi I had a c section with my first and could only breast feed for the 5 days I was in hospital the pain was horrible as my tummy muscles contracted every time she sucked and couldn't do it.
This time round if I don't have c section I want to try breast feeding and express so my partner and daughter can help with feeding.

i hate my boobs being touched, it really makes me cringe and feel soo uncomfortable. Plus I'd like to monitor how much baby is having. also bottle feeling lets daddy do some of the work and bond while feeding. i always thought I'd bottle feed, however now im pregnant i do want to at least give breast feeding a go. but im having an early c-section under general anesthetic so i may not even be awake and able to do the first feed and as baby be early, i dont know if breast will be an option. Im buying bottles and will see what i can do when the time comes. x

For me, this is my third with a small age gap and also a school run to do. My intention is to breastfeed for the two weeks my hubby is off and then go on to bottle for ease. But I want to explore expressing this time into bottles. I don't/ never have produced much milk so I have always gone onto bottle by a month old. But I try and give them a good start. I know some women don't like the thought of baby on there breasts which is why they don't feed naturally. (That's what some of the people I know have said)
