My baby's umbilical cord fell off yesterday and he is only 1week old. But it looks like there is little left inside of the belly button. Does it not come off all in ones?

just keep cleaning it with alchohol so it can dry out.

@babyg2015, oh really? Its little "wet" Ive tried to clean it but didnt know u can use alcholol to keep it dry. Thx a lot

like gooeyish ? well i used the alchohol wipes to clean it not just alcohol from the bottle. but yea it dries it out :)

My Dr said not to use alcohol on the babys skin cause it can be super sensitive and can burn them. She told me just to use a wet washcloth and let it air dry. My daughters belly button stopped lookin like that after about a week

The hospital told me to not use alcohol, they told me to not mess with it. It'll come off on it's own.

use baby wash and. wash cloth to clean it.

My sons did the same thing, and it took another week to clean itself out I just used a baby wipe every day

@ruthie, I have appointment today. I'll ask why his doctor recommends. But it true, alchocol dries the skin so maybe its not the best option after all. Thx everyone
