Started writing out my birth plan. Hoping to have a natural birth without any drugs. I really hope I don't give in to the epidural or any other drug when the time comes....so nervous. Oh well I just gotta think God made us with the capability to give birth without drugs and that at the end it'll be worth it to have a baby with no drugs in his system. I'll look at it as the first sacrifice I have to make as a mother. No pain no gain right lol
You can get it in google play or iTunes for like $10 @trezelle
@trezelle, natural hospital birth by Cynthia Gabriel
@natsmommy, I'm wanting to do a natural birth also. What book are you reading?
ok then definitely avoiding the IV meds. Yeah I've been reading a lot on it and I know that out of everything the epidural is the one with the least percentage of risks to you and your baby. So if worse comes to worse that'll have to be it. @junebaby
I just posted my birth story so that you could read it. I hope it helps you guys!
I've done both and if you can go natural that's great but if not the epidural doesn't effect the baby at all like the iv meds do. The iv meds mainly make you feel drunk and they didn't relieve my pain at all. I would skip those all together.
@natsmommy, it certainly helped me to watch those videos and hear a ton of different experiences and i definitely think that a lot of women could benefit from watching those videos @desiduke2413 I really didn't have time to think about anything other than getting through it. and you're exactly right! anything can happen and it can all change in an instant, so its good to have a birth plan but its also good to be prepared for everything else just in case. oh and I wanted to tell you guys that being in the shower while being in labor helps a lot!
I had no medication going in me and u know what it felt like... Death.
@zekesmommy, That's true. Who knows I might end up getting a C section haha. But yeah I think I should just prepare for the "just in case" scenarios. But also like @desiduke2413 said, without over thinking it. Ugh labor why can't we grow babies in a garden instead
try watching YouTube videos of labor and delivery stories, there are so many to watch. all of them are different. I know you want to go natural but you should read about other ways of delivery, because you never know how your labor will go and it's best to be prepared. I really hope that you are able to stick with your plan though 😊
@zeeksmommy, your baby didn't give you time to think lol
@natsmommy I think you have a nice plan going for you. I have been focusing on getting my whittle baby in position. I sit on a yoga ball all the time and lean over in a forward dog position. I am praying it goes well also. I am also not over thinking birth because anything can change so I kinda winging it ;) best of luck to you as well.
@zeeksmommy, that would be great! A lot of moms to be could benefit from that
I know everyone says that they all end up getting the epidural. I'm reading natural birth books and I'm hoping to go to a Lamaze class later in my pregnancy. I'm trying to absorb all the advice I can. Good luck to you too! @desiduke2413
if you want I could post my labor and delivery story. i was only in labor for 3 hours and 49 minutes so it went quick. but i know that reading other women's birth experiences helped me because I had a good idea of what to actually expect.
I want to go all natural also, but everyone thinks I can't do it. Makes me want to go natural even more lol. I hope it goes well for you and you can stick to your plan :)
I love hearing others' experiences with natural birth. It's empowering. Makes me feel like I can do it too @zeeksmommy
I was so scared to have a natural birth. I never thought that I could handle the pain, but when I didn't have a chance to get the epidural I knew I just had to do it. it is such a rewarding feeling to have a natural birth. and it really is true what they say: the pain goes away almost immediately its the greatest feeling in the world
Giving birth
For those that went/chose to give birth without an epi, how did you do it?

Natural Birth
Any moms out there given birth without meds? I have people asking me all the time if I'm going to get the epidural and I say no I will try my hardest not to. And some of them tell me that I will have in an get it, or they look at me like I'm crazy lol my sister in law, who is pregnant now with her first, told me there's no way I can do it without the epidural. She's getting the laughing gas.
yes! gotta be ready for anything :)
