I no longer want a baby shower. My family has done everything in their power to make this process hell for me and to attend a baby shower they'd be throwing just doesn't make sense. It would basically be a pity party or sympathy shower more than anything. I just want to be away from them. It would be like torturing myself to attend a shower they put together. It's such a shame for people you share blood with to make you feel this horrible about your precious child.

@mommy3, That's really all we can do. And thankfully that's all we HAVE to do. There's is no point in being miserable for your children to please others. I'd rather be happy with my children and away from misery.

Welcome to my life. Maybe less than half my family showed up. Only two people from my husbands side showed up...then I got a CRAP LOAD of useless CRAP that wasn't even on my registries. No one even RSVPed. I had to call them a day ahead of time. My own grandmother was FORCED to come. I was so angry. The only friend of mine who came made a !$&? joke about abortion in front of my mother. I haven't talked to her since. My mother then engaged my side of the family in a fun little conversation about how "mean" I am. I literally went home and deleted almost everyone off my Facebook. What's the biggest disappointment? We probably spent a couple hundred dollars on the party and I know for a fact I didn't get half that back. Save your money or your friends or families money...NOT worth the trouble. No one cares about you or your kids...they normally are there for free food and to socialize. If you THINK you'll be miserable then you probably have no idea!

@catehughes, Oh my goodness that sounds horrible. I'm sorry you had to endure that. I know for a fact mine wouldn't be much better. I'm at the point where all drama is being extracted one by one and a baby shower would be like asking for it all to come back in one room at the same time. I would probably get some awesome gifts, but it's not worth it to me. Babies need clothes and diapers. The rest is nice to have. I'm willing to make due and enjoy a pregnancy free from that stress.

your not the only one with family problems momma me n my family had our down falls n currently not really talking n my sister had the nerves to tell me my daughter was skinny she was 7 lbs 2.1 oz that is not skinny n that I still looked pregnant n it was just a few days after I had her well of course I'm going to look like that I just had a freaking baby n I was dressed comfortable but apparently me n my 7 yr old son looked like bums like really wtf
