I was on the depo shot for 4 years before I had my first baby and it really works and stop you from having any babies, the only thing is wen you decide to have another baby it can take up to 6 months to a 1 year to get pregnant again, make sure you get it in your arm it may hurt for a day or two but after that it's good. And it stop your period all the way

It was awful! After three years my bones started hurting! I guess it strips you of calcium! I was on the pill after that

Definitely get it in your booty though, it hurts like a tore muscle for a couple days after you get it if you get it in your arm

The longer you're on the depo the longer it takes to get out of your system and back to your regular cycle. But yes if you want to have another baby your doctor will be able to give you the best advice and time range for how long it should take you depending on how long you were on it. But to answer your question I'd say yes in a sense it would take more planning just because for most women it will take you more time to get pregnant

I was on the depo for years and loved it no periods was awesome for me personally. Only downside was trying to get pregnant after being on depo not sure if that matters to you or not

@momofsolaris, I'm scared of that one and I don't want a iud and I didn't remember to ever to take the pill ..so I guess it's my only option...

@amg2469, I hate! I've gained weight and I can't tell the difference between my cycle or spotting I'm getting on the pill. But everyone is different

I've heard a lot of bad things about the depo shot... I'm going to get the one they put in your arm. :)
