I am not supplementing. we were at first because she was in nicu but then after 2 days I was supplying enough not to supplement thankfully. I breastfeed and then pump after. But once I see it really stop dripping I give it 2-5 minutes and stop pumping. Another thing I was told was to make sure you don't get engorged because it will send a negative signal to your brain and your body will stop supplying... I haven't tried the anything to build supply.
Your supply is no where near regulated yet you've get 3-5 weeks before your supply is regulated and established. Best thing to do at this point is nurse in demand and comfort nurse. Pump even if you don't get anything the stimulation will signal your body to produce more milk. Be careful with that though you can cause an over supply. Pump no longer then 5 minutes after milks stopped coming.
Wow well I'm just two weeks In. I get a good amount but not enough to not supplement at the moment. I was thinking about trying the teas have y'all heard of them?@californiahaley @mckinleysmomma2015 @wesselinglove
Pump in addition to nursing. Now I've stopped pumping to attempt a supply decrease. I've had an over supply since he was born. Not fun.
No supplementing here. I'm blessed enough that I don't have to, baby boy is growing good and I still have some to pump.
I'm about to pump actually. Do you ladies supplement exclusively nursing @mckinleysmomma2015 @wesselinglove @californiahaley
