I wiped his butt so he didn't get a rash down there and each diaper change I didn't wipe his peepee I would just add more petroleum jelly when he pooped I wiped around his peepee touching it very softly after a very good hand wash and then after I wipe I just add the petroleum jelly. thats the key if you havent noticed lol always put the jelly on!

my sons healed in a week but you must not touch it unless you really have to

that's completely normal my sons a month old and when he first got it that stuff was there the nurse told me don't touch it or wipe it unless he pooped on it and put a whole lot of pure white petroleum jelly don't apply with fingers or objects. just squeeze amount on it.

@kimberlyyyy, ugh yeah! i haaaate touching it :( it looks painful.. but i put aquaphor on it. poor little guy :(

Urrrrrr, I remember my son's didn't look right the first time (awful story), but I used a BUNCH of vasoline around it so it wouldn't get moisture stuck on it or the diaper wouldn't stick. It takes a couple weeks to heal, but if you're concerned call the doctor who did the procedure and ask them when it's supposed to look better.
