should I get a down syndrome test on my baby..? opinions please (;

its really a choice on your part. I didnt because ill love my baby regardless. some people just like to know.

Its an option that you come up with. I did, so I would be prepared if my baby did have down syndrome. Im gone love my baby regardless but I didn't want no surprises like that better off for me knowing. But thank God he don't have down syndrome..

I didn't. As @helpedbytmh said, if my son is born with downs, autism, or whatever I will love him and care for him no differently than I would a baby without a disorder. Plus, I'm a huge advocate for Autism Awareness and I love working with the mentally disabled that I don't think it would change a thing. :)

if you do just be warned it is fairly common for a false positive result. that's why I didn't get one done.

Ya I knew someone who got a false positive and baby was perfectly fine when she was born. I just waited until the 20 week ultrasound cuz they would see things better anyways

It was recommended that I get the test done because I am over 35. I would have anyway because I would want to be prepared.

I wouldn't. I did it and I will never do it again. It runs in my bf family apparently and we were at high risk. It's stressful and nerve racking. We did all the screening possible and found that he didn't have it but it's just something you shouldn't have to deal with. Either way you will love that baby so why check?
