so I know this is highly debatable but if I'm having a boy I don't want him circumcised but my husband does. help! !!

@nessa48 I agree! Circumcision is cosmetic surgery. People mainly do it because that's just "what you're suppose to do," according to society and the myths about it.

@prego_again, I see what your saying! I hate it when parents get their babies ears peirced . boy and girls. just so they can "look cute" . its not cute. just like wearing makeup at a young age. that's how I see it

find some research articles and show him. my hubby os circumsized. and was all for it until i showed him the facts.

I'd do some research on it..and then think about it...you and your husband talk about it..talk about the information you've read together and then make the choice...no one can make the choice for you..do what's best for your baby! good luck! 😊

I circumcised my son but you & your hubby have to come to sort of an agreement. Make sure you read up on both decisions. The choice is inevitably yours

my hubby isnt circumcised n i personally love it, we dont want to circumcise our son. they say its greater risk of std or infections but i think thats bs. they still have to wash their penis off its not like if they r circumcised they dont wash lol but him get made fun of ive never heard of that

I've read up on it and u should to but the main reason not to is bc they deserve to be hole and they may be more sensitive during sex.

reasons to are less likely to have sdi and ifections less likely to get cancer in the penis and testies.

Rate is decreasing every year. If they 'compare bodies' (which is weird) you would have to worry about every difference like curly or straight hair. Teach them that every body is different. They have proven the fear and pain receptors in infants are just as strong as those in adults. So I think if it hurts the same later on as right away, let them choose what to do with their own body if they like it or not. Because some will resent you for taking part of their body for what is nowadays only seen as cosmetic (is in my opinion) and guys lose sensitivity down there when they're circumcised. I would let him weigh out the pros and cons himself. It's irreversible and not someone else's decision to me, I don't think. .

well your brother is lucky.. my brother got circumcised at like 10.. he got made fun of lol

I think it's a good idea to do it. When my fiance and I had our 1st son I was a little hesitant because I didn't want my baby boy to be in pain and now I'm glad we got it done because it is so much better for him. We will be doing it for our 2nd son too.

@bstill60, he wouldn't be made fun of. The rate of circumcision is decreasing every year. In my county alone the rate of circumcisions is about 60% which is significantly less then the 85% from 10 years ago. My brother is uncircumcised and said he received no teasing from either males or females because of it. My son is circumcision because I left it up to his father. We've had no issues. Our pedi told us he had no issue either way and said he's yet to have an uncircumcised child have any issues.

I left it up to my husband & he wanted it done for religious purposes & @bstill60, he won't get made fun if he's not circumsized. I'm pretty sure he's not gonna go around telling people about his penis.

Talk to him and see why he wants him to be circumcised. Your son won't be made fun of for having an uncircumcised penis.

I personally believe that it should be left if the fathers hands to make that decision. he's the one who has the male parts, so he knows more about that area than we do.
