I feel like I have to share this - I spoke with my OB about my nausea and she told me about the Category A drug (meaning it's proven safe) for nausea during pregnancy is called Diclegis - however it is super expensive ($209 for 30 days) BUT you can make it yourself with drugs OTC. It's basically a combo of doxylamine succinate (which is an antihistamine) and pyridoxine HCl (Vit B6). You take one 25mg tablet of doxylamine - which is the basic Unisom sleep tablets - not the maximum strength gell caps!! And one 25mg tablet of B6 (hard to find -- can really only find 100mg tabs unless you go on Amazon - but the 100mg tabs are pretty easy to quarter) - so take 25mgs of each at bedtime ON AN EMPTY STOMACH. Do this for about 3 days -- if on the 3rd day you're still super nauseas you can take half a dose of each (so 12.5mg of Unisom) during the day - again on an empty stomach. This has helped me tremendously!! After the first dose I no longer vomited!! I'm still a little nauseas throughout the day but I haven't taken a during the day dose yet -- I'm a pansy when it comes to sleep meds lol hope it helps!!
My doctor gave me 2 bottles of samples of Diclegis and it completely knocked out my nausea and vomiting. It works like a charm, so see if they have samples first then ask before trying anything!! Good luck.
Yea...they didn't have any :(
