OMG my son has been super fussy for the past 3 days and his appetite has seemed to disappear he usually eats 5oz every 2…

Teething?

I have felt in his mouth but nothing seems swollen but idk how to really tell if he is. would teething cause a decrease in his appetite @hayleymarie

My daughter was doing that before she got sick.... or it could be teething because babies can lose their appetite from teething. my parents told me sometimes baby's get cold symptoms with teething.

Teething could cause baby to not want to eat and babies can teeth up to 3 months before you can even see the first tooth...is he drooly ?

did she only wanna eat half her bottle and then sleep for hours before waking back up to eat? @mdomke22 I'm a little worried cause he is considered underweight for his age

yes she really wasnt finishing her bottles and would just fall right back to sleep. he might not be feeling good. do you see him like licking his lips and stuff? Cuz with the drool that could Def be teething. I would maybe get some orajel and try that out

I would try teething rings to soothe before using orajel cause that stuff toughens the gums and makes them teeth longer

okay thank u @hayleymarie he has been chewing on his hand the past couple days I have him a washrag in the fridge to chew on and freezing his soothie paci to make a teethinh ring

do u know how long it will take for his appetite to be back to normal

Not too sure how long the loss of appetite will last my daughter hasn't started teething I just know this stuff since I have 3 nieces & 2 nephews older than my daughter... I would give it a few more days with giving him stuff to chew on and see if the relief brings back his appetite... As long as he's pooping/peeing regularly I wouldn't be too seriously concerned if the chewing helps with the fussiness- my sister also started giving my nieces unwarmed bottles instead of warmed ones while teething and that seemed to give relief and make her babies want to eat again though if your breastfeeding and not pumping that could be hard to do

oh ok thank you. he is formula fed I've been tempted to give him a cold bottle but wasn't sure if I could but if it helps him eat then I'm gonna try it. yeah he chewed on my finger inside a cold wash cloth it helped until he wasn't cold no more gave him his paci and he is.out right now. @hayleymarie
