never had a c section but I've had two surgeries on my abdomen and recovery is hell. you don't realize how much you use your stomach muscles.

just remember to get up and walk as soon as you can. I think the gas is the worst part and walking helps.

a tiny firm throw pillow to splint your abdomen really helps too. I took it everywhere, even to the bathroom.

I've never had a c section but if I did I know i would be scared too...my sister had one and she went through alot of pain. People don't realize it's considered a major surgery...I hope everything goes well😊 @lunab592

Yea I know...I saw a picture on fb that a girl had posted...it said that c sections shouldn't be considered childbirth or labor. I said you must not know that c-section are more childbirth or labor than a woman going natural. People are just ignorant @lunab592 you have every right to be nervous

I'm not saying it doesn't hurt but for having mine almost 2 weeks ago I'm saying it wasn't AS bad as I thought it does hurt just not what you expect when your pregnant and gonna have one.

I had a c section 3 and a half weeks ago...I was so terrified, I have never had surgery before and being awake scared me so much but it was the best thing for me and my daughter. after the numbness they got me up moving and the recovery is long and the first couple weeks I was in a lot of pain and needed to take it easy. now it doesn't hurt as bad just stings here and there and I need to remind myself to still take it easy. what they don't tell you or at least me my legs and feet swelled up so much it more than when i was pregnant it wad almost worse than the pain lol and the swelling finally went down last week...don't be afraid to ask for help afterwards you will need it.

Oh also they explained everything to me...I never felt a thing except some tugging but I couldn't feel anything...once they started she was out within minutes and you just don't think about it anymore. aside from the recovery the actual surgery wasn't as bad as I was thinking before hand.

@lunab592, to tell you the truth I'm not sure how long it was because all I could think about was my little girl and i remember thinking after she was out was wow that was fast lol. but I don't think it took very long to sew me up...the part for me that was the longest was getting prepped and on the table but that could be because I was scared. my husband was in there with me when they were doing the surgery so that helped to calm my nerves so much

Yeah thats true and you can feel them going through the layers but it's no pain idk how to explain. I went in at 6:40 my son was delivered at 7 but after I seen him I passed out woke up to just two doctors finishing up at 7:40 I was done. only reason I kept passing out was cause I was

allergic to anesthesia and didn't know cause it was my first surgery @lunab592

Yeah for like 5 mins then they take the baby for there testing and to monitor breathing

For me it went well but the recovery was painful and long. Also like @junebaby mentioned the gases were worst, I had difficult going to the toilet for long time cuz of the pain. I mean we all experience it differently. I didnt have time to think about the c-section since I found out 1day before that Im going to have one, but I remember crying and I was so upset about it. And now Im going to have a normal labor which is freaking me out. Everyday the due day comes closer Im more stressed about it. I think we will in our own way deal with fear. Doesnt help someone telling us how to feel, specially someone who doesnt have any experience of it.

I was able to do skin to skin right away for several minutes then they took her to the recovery room but my husband went with her@lunab592. for the record I had no problem with passing gas or going to the bathroom...but everyone is different

I had an emergency c section I didn't know I was having one till that very min. I was induced on a Monday labored for 48 hours when they realized his umbilical cord was wrapped around his neck. I can't really tell you what to expect cause every hospital is different but all I can say is try and remain calm you don't wanna add the extra stress. @eskawho @lunab592 @kay80
