Better late than never... My Daughter's arrival to this world.
I had a doctor's appointment on my due date March 25, 2015 and I was fully effaced and she swept my membrane. That evening at 9:00pm I started getting contractions that were extremely bearable every 20-30 minutes, following on into the next day until 10:00am on March 26, 2015 which they became a bit more intense and about 10-15 minutes apart. Walked through the contractions that afternoon around 3:00pm. Let me just tell you that Raspberry Leaf Tea helped once I took it that day. Contractions became 7-10 minutes apart and occasionally having a little more intense ones in between. By 8:00pm that night I took a shower and was pulling through the contractions which were coming 4-7 minutes apart. And here is where the fun begins... 11:00pm that's when they became more intense at about 3-7 minutes apart, trying to sleep in between those only to realize I couldn't anymore. 12:00am on March 27, 2015 rolled along and they were 2-5 minutes apart and lasting me over a minute long. By 12:45am I just couldn't handle the pain anymore at home and I felt the need to go to the hospital. Walked to my mom's room where she's deep asleep telling her that I need to go. Got to the hospital at 1:15am and by 1:30am my nurse had prepped me and checked that I was 7cm dilated. She wheeled me into my L&D room and kept me on the monitor and my contractions were about a 4 and occasional 6 and 8. 2 hours later around 3:45am I was at 9cm. 4:20am my water finally decided to break. My contractions by then were about 2 minutes apart and 1 minute long. A few times I wanted to give up but I kept dealing with the pain until 5:00am when I literally felt the need to push. My nurse called the doctor and backup nurses, she couldn't find baby girl's heartbeat (and prior to that it had dropped a tad bit) because she was low and she didn't realize that I was ready. I started pushing around 5:10am quickly wanting to give up by 5:31am I gave birth to my beautiful baby girl Sofia Anastasia. Her umbilical was super short she wasn't able to reach me. Doctor cut cord and the nurses cleaned her up while I gave one more push for my placenta. Before they measured her they handed her to me since I decided to breastfeed. My angel weighed 7lbs2oz and was 19in long. I am proud of myself for going all natural without any medication... It was all worth it at the end!!!
Way to go. Sounds very similar to how I want to do things. Stay at home were I can be comfortable and move until it becomes too much and close together. I live five miles from the hospital so I'm lucky in that respect
I also don't live that far from the hospital I delivered at. I do feel stay home as long as possible and if possible don't get an epidural, for me it went by quick without the medication. The initial pushing is very uncomfortable but so worth it! @uhohitskyra
