Got some Dreft for baby clothes... How long do I have to use newborn detergent, and can I use something else, because Dreft is expensive.. :/

Probably a cray question to ask, but when did y’all start to wash your newborns clothes and putting them away? Like I’ve been getting clothes since I found out what I was having but I haven’t taken off tags yet or washed anything. I’m 30 weeks. It’s crazy because with my other 3 kids I didn’t really wash a lot of their stuff at first (got lazy) ALSO what laundry detergent did you use if you didn’t use Dreft? Because i saw Pyrex for Baby an didn’t know if anyone tried it??

does anyone know what this could be? i use unscented soaps and lotions and i use dreft for his clothes but this just started happening.
Ok so I just read an article about Dreft having bad chemicals in it that can harm the babies. All I ever used was Dreft, but of course now I will need to pick something else. Anyone have any suggestions on what they've used or is using for their babies?

I bought the purex baby. My mom friends recommended it. It's only 3.97 at Walmart.

@rachelmariecroxton, it all depends on the child some people never use baby detergent ... all detergent is safe it's just that baby detergent has no fragrances or dyes so it's better since their skin is sensitive. My brother is 11 & my mom still has to use a free & gentle soap because his skin is sensitive.

Ah gottcha, then your baby might have sensitive skin too. I don't really have sensitive skin, but my boyfriend does. So I guess my son took after me

My skin is extremely sensitive, I can only use Xtra And Snuggle. Everything else makes me itch and gives me a rash. My husband's skin isn't too sensitive when it comes to detergent, but when he was a baby, he had really sensitive skin, couldn't wear any type of diaper other then one brand. @caydensmommy

Honestly I don't use baby detergent and my son is just fine, just depends how sensitive their skin is. I've never used baby detergent

Yeah it's for Babies and ppl with sensitive skin.

tide free & gentle is cheaper & is good for sensitive skin. that's what we're using for our baby.

I saw some All Free and Clear, but wasn't sure if it could be used or not. I also saw some other ones, but the same problem occurred. Wasn't sure. :P There's one it's by Natural Organics, was thinking maybe I could use that instead, because it's 6 dollars cheaper, for the Same amount. @rocket
