My fiance is from Olive Branch, MS, but when we go see his mom and sister we go do stuff in Memphis, and he worked there too. He's told me some horror stories, but I find the driving to be scarier than any other city I've ever lived in or driven through. My grandmother would tell me about how Memphis used to be wonderful, and how it's gone down hill so bad. Domestic violence is everywhere, and shameful regardless of where it is, but it's always published more in the higher crime places.
