so my son will be 2 weeks old on Friday so I thought I would share my labor story( sorry its really long). so on the 12th I had a doctors appt. she checked me and I was only 1 cm dilated 50% effaced. she told me that they would talk about inducing me at my next appt. well I didn't make it to that appt. I went to bed that night at almost midnight. I woke up at 130 thinking my water was leaking so I went to the bathroom and tried to go back to bed. I kept getting up and eventually I thought to myself that I need to go to l&d. I went to the bathroom one last time and I had lost the rest of my mucus plug. I went laid back down and like 10 minutes later between 345 and 4 my water broke!!! I got to the hospital and got admitted and they checked me and I was still the same. I wasn't dilating on my own so they put a cervix catheter and put medicine in it to dilate me. I was a 1 when the put it in and 45 minutes later I was a 4. I got the epidural and tried to rest but couldn't. around 330 pm they checked me again and told me that I have a bulging bag of water. they had to break the rest of my water TWICE!!! they had to give me pitocin because my contractions weren't consistent enough. they told me to get some rest but about 20 minutes after they told me that I had the sensation to push. so after 14 hours of labor, pushing on an hour of sleep, my beautiful baby boy was born on Friday the 13th at 6:28 pm 7 lbs 10 oz 20 3/4 in long.
