Hey ladies

It's me again with one of my silly questions.

Why do some women choose not to breastfeed? I am not judging I just want to understand because in my country (Guyana) breastfeeding is the norm. Formula is hardly used until the baby is a few months old. I read a few articles and it said some women found it difficult or find it inconvenient etc. Someone shed some light??? 😔😔

I pumped as well, from quite early on, so that my husband could get involved with the occasional feed, but my boy hated bottles & would rarely take one. I moved him onto formula once he was weaned & earing solids. xx

@whanau, Wonderful advice. So after the 5 months did you switch to formulae/ did you use a breast pump??? Breastfeeding sounds painful but lets face it. That is the purpose of our breasts

Hi Ladies, I exclusively breast fed my son for 5 & a half months. I won't lie, it is hard work, and at times painful, but I personally think it is worth it when you look at the benefits. All I can advise is stock up on good nipple cream, and use it after every feed, and most babies go through a growth spurt at around 3 weeks old and need feeding almost constantly - a lot of people give up at that point, but its only a few days, and then baby will go back to a more achievable routine! xx

Oh really....I'm probably related to him..😂😂

Express means just that, pumping ya milk from ya breast, to feed them via a bottle...Yh once ya put ya mind to it, youll do it. The only reason why I never did it the latching on way, is because they just would not latch on and obviously I wanted them to get milk lol. Good luck though, cos it really can be a challenging task. Yet there are some women who have no problems lol the lucky few lol

Well I too belive in breastfeeding and I'm also from the west indies (Grenanda and Trinidad) and they are strict on breastfeeding too.

Yet, when I had my two children, both of them didn't latch on properly and I struggled to solely Breast feed, I had to express for five-Six months, and around the third month I needed to introduce formula, to help me out a lil. I think majority of people really struggle with it, so they just give up. Breastfeeding can take a lot out of you. I was just determined so I chose to express for the whole six months, but trust me that was challenging. lol 😫😫😀
