Baby boy refuses to nurse and hasn't eaten since 1 this afternoon I'm frustrated and scared is this normal newborn…

Oh no. He has to eat. Have you tried giving him a little bit of formula so he can at least eat something

The hospital won't give us anything all he does is sleep they tell us just to keep trying every 2 hrs @xaviersmommy

What really. The hospital i delivered checked on him every 2 hrs and they helped me nurse but when he wouldnt latch right they would give him formula. It was a must for him to eat. You have to wake him up or else he'll just keep sleeping. At night i would sent up an alarm every two or three hours to wake up my son to eat

I'm dealing with this as well, Alaura went from 3:30 am till almost noon because of latching issues.. they finally had me pump and syringe fed her, they also think she may be tongue tied @palmerwifey

The hospital I'm at pretty much sucks they won't supply anything and it takes hours to get any help at all from them I'm currently pacing my hospital room trying to get him to calm down it's pretty hard with a c section healing @sking092192 @xaviersmommy

@sking092192, either Saturday or Sunday this has been such a bad experience so happy he's here tho we finally got him to calm down enough to suckle a little

@palmerwifey, It's frustrating, I'm having a hard time getting Alaura to latch.. I finally managed to get 2 five minute feedings tonight though, I keep having to try different feeding positions. have you tried any?

My son did the same thing as long as you are attempting to feed him it's okay... He will wake up to eat when he's hungry

my little guy had a hard time latching at first. if your frustrated it makes it all the harder. just keep on it. my little guy nurses like a champ now even though he's tongue tied. we sometimes have problems now and then but it happens

Thanks ladies he just had gotten circumcised and was gassy we got the gas bubble out then he had a healthy serving of colostrum @tee0318 @spud

Yeah it sucks. I hated bot being able to get up fast because of the c section. It would take me like 2 minutes just to get up from the bed. Its going to get easier :) i woulf cry when it was time to feed my son because he loved to suck of his tongue so it was hell trying to latch him on and feed him. I wanted to give up so many times but now its gotten so much easier. That hospital sounds all bad. Sorry mama. You'll be a pro in no time.

Its normal. I still cry sometimes. Aha breastfeeding can be very overwhelming. Yaaay ! Its the best feeling ever huh. Congrats ☺️☺️☺️
