Only drip drops! Literally nothing at times and the nurse says he doesn't need a significant amount until day 4-7 !! OMG . I tried patting his back and doing that thing with his legs. Nothing worked. The only way he calms down is if I put him on chest after giving him my nipple until he's drowsy . He won't even take the pacifier. Only my nipple

that's true about them not being much their little tummys are about the size of a cherry. can they give him gas drops? it's a big change going from inside you to not constantly being with you I'm sure he'll calm down in a few days. try fenugreek (sp?) i hear it helps with milk supply

What is fenugreek exaxtly? Where can I buy it? I'll ask the doctor if he can have it. She just left the room 😩 they're discharging me today FINALLY @palmerwifey

it's a pill supplement like a vitamin Wal-Mart sells it I'm not sure how much tho also mothers milk tea is suppose to help

The first two days were he'll for me... And then things got so much better he would sleep and eat sleep and eat. Hoping things turn around for u hun

@palmerwifey, thanks the doctor just came in and told me. She said it may or may not work for me and to be patient because it's only been 2 days and some women take up to 7 so I'll wait a few days and use formula for now

Take it easy stress is the worse thing for producing milk. My milk didn't come one till day 4 and she just wanted boobie all the time. But my constant said that's good your baby is trying to build your supply so just let them suck whenever they want it seem like a lot but its helping you. Try not to give formula because then is telling you your baby is full you do not need to produce.Try a warm compress to get it moving. Also if you are really emotional means your milk is coming in. Sounds crazy but its true I cried like someone died and i didn't know why. So just take it easy and breath. Once you are home and you can relax you will feel better. inshallah! may Allah swt help you and protect you both ameen

If you gave him formula and he still cries he may have colic and if he does he gonna cry like a stink, swaddle him, lay him on his stomach on ur knees and pat his back and get gripe water and give it to him

@krb0911, inshallah ameen! Thank u! I'm trying real hard not to stress but I guess it's a new mommy thing. Everything worries me. I'm nervous because I'm going home today so no more nurses help! Inshallah I'll be fine though! Atleast I'll have a comfortable bed. My back is killing pain and these beds are horribleeeee!

@mrssabby, what's colic?? Gas?? He doesn't calm down with any of those methods. Only if I give my nipple until he falls asleep, not even a pacifier. I gave him some formula because he was crying nonstoppppp so I thought he needs quick food because my boobs weren't producing anything

its called cluster feeding there normally just supposed to suck even though nothing comes out

it let's your body know how much milk it's supposed to produce

just don't forget to stay hydrated 😊

Awhh hun 😔 pls be positive and try to stay calm cause ur baby hun can sense your stress and it goes against your body hence milk production. I think still give him the breast for comfort and hopefully it will stimulate and start the flow. And also take out the pump. Ask the nurses specifically like u know draw it down if necessary...be like don't leave me hanging here worrying....good luck love 😘

It took me almost 2 weeks after to start lactating. I had Marissa in formula now she takes from both. But it is a struggle at first.

@mmmirage, yep colic is bad baby gas just keep him close and latched that's how you will get more milk, but do everything else I stated earlier too and you will get some relief

@anabezzy, yeah I noticed! Nothing comes out but it calms him down. I'll have to do this and formula on the side until I actually have milk come out. I hope I get milk! It's frustrating me because I feel like I'll never have milk! 😩
