honestly I'm surprised you don't know that, that's one major thing doctors check and worry about.

It's what protects your baby. && it happens before you go into labor. Or your doctor could break your water && it comes out

@twinsmother2015, Um yes I already have a 2 year old but that has nothing to do with anything smh. I want to educated myself now since I'm older and was pregnant with my first @ 17.

@tibi2696, thanks. Well simply because I wasn't seen by a doc only once in the beginning of my pregnancy because of insurance problems. But that's handled now.

Amniotic fluid doesn't necessarily "happen" to you, as your baby is growing inside the amniotic sac that protects him, the fluid is filling the sac throughout your pregnancy. When your water breaks, it is because the amniotic sac broke and your amniotic fluid is rushing out

@dannettx3 it's actually the babies urine ... the reason they measure it is to determine if the babies organs are functioning correctly , it can also determine problems with diabetes. if it's not enough amniotic fluid it's a danger to your baby.
