who watched childbirth all or nothing...with the four different styles of childbirth on BBC one last night. What's ya thoughts???
so we have one lotus woman, one who wants a free birth, one who wants to eat her placenta and the rich couple who are going private for a cesarean!!??? WOW
I watched it too. Yeah, I was retching at that placenta fruit smoothy!!!! I think they could have shown a basic NHS hospital birth too, just to be more fair in the comparisons. I'm all for home birth etc if ppl want to, even though I'm going to a midwife led unit. In Holland 40% of all births are at home and the death rate is similar to ours in the UK, so I have a problem with it.
Yh I'm with you on that. I want a hospital birth with no medical intervention and they offer this by giving birth in the birth centre, where it is natural and almost like a free birth. So you do have this option, while there is a midwife on standby for emergencies. So they are aware that some ppl wanna go back to basics....The women in third world countries have free birth all the time, yet baby death rates are higher. But like you said it is down to the individual, I ain't hating lmao lol. I know what I want lol.xx
Yeah in the end of the day its their decision...but i deffo want a hospital birth but with no medication and as less intervention as possible :/ i understand the free birth because if we couldnt do it on our own we wouldnt be here because back in the days there was no help and babies were still born perfectly. I dont know lol i guess im all for the natural x
@elisabetesantos, lol. I think they are all bonkers. The c-section woman's mum was right, if you haven't been through the pain how would you know that you don't wanna do it!!?? It is a cop out situation, I think.
As for the free birth, ok every persons choice, I get that. Yet, what guess something happens to the baby (although wishing the baby good health), but like the midwife said, what about the "what ifs". And the lotus woman, well she's just mad. lol Yet again, each to their own, I guess
oh and the lady that kept the placenta attached till it fell out 😑 i really didnt agree with that but oh well ...x
Hi, yh I say it again each to their own.
what floats ones boat might not float mine. I agree with the NHS birth statement, that would of been fairer.
As long as the babies are healthy that's all that matters really x
