Over a month old now... I just wanted to talk to all the moms here about the moment after birth. It's true that some women experience an overwhelming sense of love for their baby immediately after seeing them... But the thing is is that... I didn't... I loved him and I found him cute... But I never had this crazy rush of emotions that changed me in a moment. In fact it took me two weeks to really feel that kind of emotion. It's not that I didn't love him... I just didn't fall head over heels right away. And that sent me so far into a deep dark hole that I hate myself. I thought I had failed as a mom, that i was doomed, that I'd somehow hurt my baby. I wanted to talk about thus because my postpartum depression was centred around my failure to feel overwhelmed after birth. I just want everyone to know that it's okay to not feel it right away. You haven't failed, your not a bad mom, it just takes a little time sometimes, and there is nothing wrong with that... It's normal!!!!
I personally felt that love right away with my first. But your post is important, and I am glad you posted it. Because it isn't that way for every mom. It doesn't mean that you are a bad mom. It just means you are an individual, you just went through one of the most traumatic things a human being can go through. Whether womyn or man. it's a hell of an ordeal, physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. It is a lot to process. Not feeling that immediate love they describe in no way means anything. positive or negative. you simply are a mama that had a hell of a 9 months, and then some.
Will your Mom be in the delivery room?
My mom made it sound like she was gonna be in the delivery room when I give birth, and quite frankly, I would just like it to be me and my fiancé. It's our first, and I want to share that special moment with just him. I don't want to hurt her feelings, and I know this is something she would really like to be a part of. So I feel bad telling her no.
I know I've posted this before but when your water was leaking did it stay leaking or just with movements or what? Did you get contractions shortly after or no? I rolled out of bed and felt warmth leak out but Idk if it was possibly urine or what...never had it happen. It didn't smell like anything really...I know I should either call l&d or go in but I just want some experiences please. I want to wait a bit just in case it's nothing.
Short Luteal Phase?
I've just started temping because I believe that the reason I haven't had a BFP yet, after 20 months, is because I believe I may have a Luteal Phase Defect.
Yesterday I went out with my boyfriend went to watch a movie, me and him don't live together yet. but point is yesterday when he was dropping me off his like sleep over at my house witch the mom and dad lives. I said no,
his response was why is everyone deciding or making choices for you and their going to do the same with the baby, when I know that's not true. what he thinks is that my mom tells me not to sleep over. So he left all mad. and I felt in my heart that he went on and cheated on me...

I just want to share my ring I got today. It's from a company called ashes into glass.
No one experience should ever be equated to anothers.
