@sexii_diiva, that's how they get an umbilical hernia when they cry it strains and makes their belly button protrude@babygirl10-11 girl I did it with all 3 it works for us especially when they cry a lot
@babygirl10-11 yea I get what you saying lol... @mrssabby I've never heard that before. crying too much can cause hernia
Yep I believe it until I figured she had colic, I'm old school so we got a gold dollar and taped it over her belly button so if she cries for long it won't pop or herniate
it really just depends tho if i know for a fact its just cuz she wants me to hold her ill let her cry not for hella long tho cuz ill be the one to get mad and i will pick her up by that time shes done made her self sleepy so i will rock her to sleep
girl my baby been crying it out since day one lol hell her ass crying right now pulling on my leg ... im sitting next to her lol
lol how old would you start It tho? @babygirl10-11
i let my baby cry it out cuz she spoiled i dont believe that o you cant spoil babies ... if my baby is crying and i pick her up and she stops that butt is spoiled lol
true I guess u have to watch him, u kno ur baby better than anybody, so if u feel like he's getting over on u. He probably is... lol or if ur SO points it out, cuz of course ur baby is gonna b a mama's little boy nd daddy gonna try to snap him out of it real quick. So he might catch it before u do but ur baby is still a rocka by baby, don't spoil him but he's still a baby so go head nd baby him!!
@sexii_diiva, you are the parent do what you feel but wait until a few months even sometimes when you pick a baby up they will still cry which means something is wrong hungry, gassy or sleepy
@kismet_carri yes I'm wondering when do they realize "o she will hold me all the time" vs them not knowing any better
Obviously, it's different once the child is older. My little brother who's a toddler will cry when it's bed time because he doesn't want to sleep and wants attention, but an infant doesn't know how to manipulate.
Babies don't know how to self-soothe, they have to be taught. If you soothe your child to sleep when they're older they'll be able to calm themselves better and sleep better. There are a lot of good articles on the topic by Dr. Sears and many other professionals.
as a soon to be FTM I personally wouldn't do it to a newborn or infant, mayb as they get a little older nd they are more able to communicate a little more nd just aren't willing because they think crying will get them what they want.
@sexii_diiva, I do not believe it works I think your baby just gets tired and falls a sleep but doesn't Learn anything. Do not get wrong babies should cry but just not for long periods. I work in a daycare with 8 infants alone and had them all on the same schedule but they were all older then 3 months. I believe I read newborns can't self sooth unless 3 mouth of age. that's why they need all the bouncers and swings an such to sooth them until they learn. But once you get them on a schedule which u really can't do till 3 or 4 months they will. cry till you sooth them. hopefully that makes since
to be honest I truly don't remember since it was 8 years ago but I know it was pretty early probably he was 1 month or 2, I use to let him cry his lungs out :'-( now that I think about it makes me feel so bad ,I truly wouldn't recommend this method especially if the baby is stubborn its like he use to challenge me like "oh so you gonna sit there and just let me cry,Let me cry my ass out then" lol smh
@wondermom yea that's what I read...some kids it works others it doesn't... how old was your baby when you did the method?
I did it with my first son and it made hiz belly button pop out ("an outee") ⁢ made him a stubborn baby to the point where when he was 1 and 2 they thought he had angerment problems and they wanted to put him on medication thank god I didn't give them the okay because my son is healthy as he can be. and now with my newborn I certainly will not be doing that crying method, when he starts crying i do leave him a good 5 minutes crying it out but not more than that. With some babys that method works but to other babys it just makes them crankier and worst.

Why is your kid crying???
I don't believe in CIO. My baby doesn't really ever cry unless she is getting her diaper changed. She hates that for some reason, and I swear even though her dad does the changing I always go to comfort her while he is doing it cause I can't stand to hear my wittle Angel crying.
