What is it like after birth & having stitches to deal with while having to take care of your baby ?

for vaginal stitches it just stings bad at first but the warm water bottles to squirt yourself with help and tucks pads. getting around will just be slow going for a few days but its not that bad really.

and you may not even have stitches. my last two kids I had no tearing at all.

So they dont hurt a lot ? how did you shower & get on & off your bed ?

The first week or two are rough because when you use the bathroom you can't use toilet paper you hve to use a bottle of water and witch hazel pads ect. So it takes some time just to pee because you have to go through a process of cleaning yourself when you're done. It really depends on how many stitches you have and how well you take care of them as to how painful it is. It also depends on how easy your baby is. I could always take my son in the bathroom and put him in his bouncer and he would either sleep or look at the light in the bathroom while I did whatever I had to do.

It was also easier for me to turn on the bath water and he would fall asleep to the sound.

Really it depends on your baby and how many stitches you hve/where. The first week is the hardest.

getting up and down off the bed was uncomfortable for a couple days because of the weight of your body pushing against the stitches. you can shower and take sitz baths where you just don't put the stopper in the tub or just fill it about an inch and sit.
