Can someone explain the Group B Strep test to me? I'm pretty sure ill be getting it next…

they just exam you and swab. if you're positive they'll give you antibiotics in labor.

Another trip of getting naked for the docs 😩 I heard it doesn't hurt tho. Just a quick swab to collect something off the surface

They swabbed inside my butthole for like 3 seconds and the outside of the vag lol.

Yeah I was legit in shock because she said "okay now we're going down the rectum and in we go" it was seriously quick and didn't hurt at all just a little awkward @mmmirage

okay I have group B strep I had it with my son and am sure I have it with this one also but they will test u and if u have it so will the baby so when u are in labor they will put drops in ur iv if untreated durning labor the baby could die

so don't worry hun and they swab u down there normally they will do it by blood

they have never swab inside my butt just around my vajj ... nothing to worry about if u do have it they will just give u antibotics tru a iv while in labor i had it with my first baby but not my last 2 ,,,,, @tinkerbell you might not this time

its only bad for the baby because their bodies can't find off the strep. that's why you'll get the antibiotics to help prevent the baby from being exposed during birth. they never swabbed my butt. just my vaginal area.

@allyandbaby yeah that IS awkward! I'm sure mine will swap my butt too, they're super big on every test lol I'll let em Cuz u never know what if the issue is in the butt and not the vag so better to b safe than sorry

I just had mine yesterday, they swabbed the inside of my vag, not very deep, and then the outside of my butt. It wasn't painful or anything, not even awkward and that was my first time ever being too a Dr that looked down there.

Mine just did around the butthole and vag lol
