When can I start pumping? I know he's only almost three days old but my nipples hurt so bad I cry when he eats:( I know it's not supposed to hurt and they said it's because I have "short nipples" I almost want to give up but I know it's not about me, it's about him and it's what's best for him. I feel like a failure at breastfeeding already:(

but I feel you on the pain. it's SOOOOOO painful when she eats but after she feeds for a while it goes away. you're not a failure momma. this is a learning experience for both of you.

I pumped right away. my son is almost 2 weeks old and my nipples are still a little sore. Make sure you are latching correctly, I wasn't and since I found the correct way it's been much better. it does get better! I promise! good luck! @mom2be96

thank you @dani_8513 and they hospital said she had a good latch and it only hurts at first. after she nurses for a minute I'm fine
