Contemplating letting my son cry it out but I get so sad hearing him cry

@ljjones, ya I guess. I don't let him do it often but sometimes he is just overtired so he cries for 5 mins and falls asleep

Your call because you are the mom and you know your child better than anyone else. Many of the cry it out studies were overturned as the "right" thing to do. You have to choose what's right, in some cases it may be self comforting but "spoiling" a child doesn't happen in the first year as previously thought.
