Exactly! My boyfriend was like I've never even heard of third hand smoke and I just have to walk away... Like really I learned about it in elementary school 😔

I'm serious on this as well, they won't hold him unless they have changed clothes and washed their hands. No way did I go through 9 months of this just to have him get grimey and sick. @kate_magalina

My boyfriend smokes and I told him he's not holding our baby if he smells like smoke & he looks at me like I'm crazy but I'm sticking to my word. And his mom even agrees with me lol

my hubby smokes and he cant hold the baby until he showers and changes clothes and hes not allowed to smoke anywhere near our window or kids... thank goodness he only smokes 1 a day other wise we would have a problem

you're protecting your child. its natural. I know how it feels because my boyfriends mom smokes in her house and so does the other 2 people that live there. they're not going to like it when I tell them how I feel, but that's how most people that smoke are :/

No he's your baby & yea you spent 9months taking care of him so he can come out healthy..So no, if they smell like too much smoke, they shouldn't hold him.

Well I've always been a very blunt person especially if I was uncomfortable with something. And at my graduation party I had no problem telling them to not smoke around me, but I don't want them holding him and him getting sick or something. @christyc @abbilms00 it's just not going to happen really, I hate to be snooty but I'm not comfortable with it.

I think it's right of you to mention not for them to hold him. I mean it stiiiiiiicks. And u don't want your baby to inhale AND smell like it. Would it hard for you to find a way to tell them ?

you have every right to feel that way. you can absolutely tell them no and sorry about their luck but you could also make them change into a clean shirt that hasn't been smoked in and wash up to their elbows or something. totally your choice and they have to respect that, 3rd hand smoke can increase the risk of sids
