yes and no... I got a lot of hand me downs with my son but honestly I was grateful because having a child is definitely expensive. It's always nice to have people that want to help but new things are always nice

I understand it for certain things like car seats, breast pumps, ect. But honestly things get so expensive that I was great-full for anything given to me. My sister and I are still trading clothes back and forth and diapers ( we cloth) there's nothing wrong with buying things new but if they are offered and in good condition why turn it down. You can always buy a new one later if you decide you want a different style or model.

It doesn't hurt to have some extra help. Babies get messy so quickly through out the day that you will be using a lot of clothes and what not. But I understand buying new things that you personally pick out as well.

ur not wrong at all ... im with u @californiahaley I got lucky the only thing I had to buy was a carseat I got all my sisters stuff cuz she had a baby 5 months b4 me and wht ever I didnt get from her I got at my shower my baby has clothes from birth to 12 months lol I love handy downs

@babygirl10-11, my sister kept all my nephews clothes so I was thankful to get to use them all. I ended up with 4 boxes of newborn clothes which tan ended up never fitting in lol
