no just uncomfortable lots of pressure if I recall right they use the instrument that they use for the pap smear to be able to see & they stick it right in lol

I had paraguard tho, I had it for 3 years. & Yea if you take it before it'll def help & once you get home take another one that's what I did.

I bet its probably because of that, I don't remember really well from my last pregnancy but I don't think I had the cramping till after I had my birth control put in
