Forcing a child to do something will never end well. Just educate a child on safe sex and the responsibilities with it but at 12 lil to early. My parents told me about it and I was 7 and again when I was 13 never keep it a secret of try keep it out of a kids life because they will find out another way and may not be the best way

I plan to be more involved in my daughters life than my parents were, because I believe that lack was what caused me to think I was ready for sex etc etc. If parents stay pretty involved in a child's life, they can further their pursuits with focus and guidance. Not that I'm saying all teens are bright, I mean eventually they reach an age where they wanna do whatever, but I wanna be involved as much as possible. @mrscalderon

I think teens are too young but that's just me, I'm not having it lol I'm gonna be all up in my daughters business. I didn't know shit about sex in my teens and the idea terrified me I had absolutely no interest in it till I was 18 or so.. I think I should have been more educated but idk i guess my mom didn't.. we never talked about it aside to day it was a sin unless I was married.. and i never had sex ed is never even seen a penis till I was out of highschool i was so sheltered lol

amen! i totally agree the only thing i was interested at 12 was playing and hanging out with my friends..wasnt interested or had my first till i was 17, if i have a daughter ima talk to her about sex and abstinence at a young age like my parents did with me. i think knowing about certain things like stds pregnancy and abstinence at a young age can help out a lot.

yes all you can do is educate them... society isn't the same like it was when we were 12... sex is in every song.. every show ..sex sells..everyone is talking about it so its hard... you can't say you gonna make sure your child isn't gonna have sex. it's outta your control... all we can do as parents is keep encouraging them to make the right decision.. just like you can be the best mom you can be..but your child might be a child that always stays in jail.. you can't blame yourself.. you can only do so much

I agree with you @sexii_diiva you cant say they WONT do something because then it's like they do it to just prove a point. I mean I knew about sex from a younger age but my mom got pregnant with me at 16 and my dad was 17 I didn't have sex until I was almost 18 just because I was terrified but I knew what it was and I was interested but never acted until later

@nnb1314 same here girl.. once I became 18 I was son birth control hard because I didn't Want that life... my mom always told me the consequences of having a child.. && telling me how these dudes just wanna get in your pants.. I felt like that info really helped me..now it doesn't work for everyone but I know my cousin parents were strict -& she was so eager to have sex. she got pregnant at 17 or 18 maybe... && had an abortion but I blame her parents for trying to lock her up --&& keep her away from boys. ... my mom was the same way..had me at 19...she had sex with man that's way older. && got pregnant the 1st time. she didn't know any better cuz her parents sheltered her..so I guess she said she wasn't gonna shelter me..she let me have my freedom now I'm 25 && planned to get pregnant. no mistake && I'm happy im having a baby from the person I married..

Yeah my mom lost her virginity to my dad and got pregnant with me her first time lol Surprise! And she always told me that so my first time ever having sex even used protection I just knew I was pregnant haha. Just because I was THAT paranoid But her always telling me that it really helped me and I was smart about it.. And I know it's hard being young and " in love" because guys will tell you what ever you want to hear just to lay you down... I know one damn thing for sure if only I would have waited 4 more years I would have had my first with my husband but life don't work like that... A song that I have always loved was S.E.X and now that I am pregnant it really gets to me cause I know if I have a girl I want her to know what could happen.
