Ok question for moms that already had their little one,ok so I've been getting really nervous about the pain of labor…

And it's both that much of a difference but the spinal block works for sure some times a epidural doesn't

I doo too but I would get the epidural again cause I can't take pain. @alicia91

@krissy81814 Oh I didn't even know there was a difference! Lol this is good info to know! I guess I got the spinal epidural because they left that thing in my back but I was mad because they told me to let them know if I felt more pain so they could give me more but I went 6 7 hours and they didn't give me more, but they should know how long it takes to wear off... But oh well, in a way I was happy it did because it helped me push my baby out real quick, 4 pushes literally and he was out lol and the pain allll went away like nothing happened! Seriously think it through, try to take the pain because like I said, I have horrible back aches now :(

I didn't think it was bad at all I was in labor for 22 hours and I thought it was actually a breeze and pushing was super easy also!

But it does give back pain like @alicia91 said

It is easy to confuse a spinal block and spinal epidural because they are both injections into the spinal area. For a spinal block, narcotics or anesthetic is injected once with a needle. For a spinal epidural or combined spinal epidural, a catheter is placed in the epidural space to allow continuous anesthesia. Spinal blocks are not widely administered today because of the preference for epidurals. However, they can be used in a more complex birth situation or a cesarean delivery.

And many say you can get paralyzed and I assure you that it isn't true they don't make the needle long enough to penetrate puncture or touch you spinal cord it's a skinny hollow needle the try to give it to you during a contraction so you won't jump

honestly yes girl it is! can't hide the truth! with my first I felt like, literally dying .. labor was 9 hrs. Second time around, oh oh no compare! worst! I was induced because he was to big for lil me, labor 12 hours!!!! had a lot of fluid as well so I felt like he was taring ma insides out!!!

I think you shouldn't stress or think about it because pain is different for everyone so maybe it will be an easy labor for you.

In all honesty, yes and no. I'm the biggest wimp there is when it comes to pain and I was induced at 36 weeks. I had the epidural but I waited until I was about 6-7cm dialated before I got it. Some of my contractions were very strong and painful before my epi but others I didn't even really feel to be honest. but like others have said it just depends on your pain tolerance level. like I said I'm a wimp with pain lol but I did make it a majority of the way dialated before I broke and got the epi.

It depends on how well you take pain lol...it's common for first time second time or even 3-5th time moms to get scared or nervous cause no pregnancy is the same you can always weigh your options for epidural or spinal block and they also give narcotics

I'm not gonna lie, it does hurt but it all depends how you handle it. I got the epidural at 4 centimeters then it wore off by 6 centimeters. All night went by, and by the time I got more, it just didn't work so I felt the whole thing. Yes, it hurt! Made me cry, scream, and shout but what makes me cry more now is the backaches!! I wish I would've just dealt with the pain, and I wouldn't be suffering now 4 years later. The pain literally goes away as soon as that baby pops out, and the pain IMO helps you push the baby out. Everytime I had a contraction, I pushed a little bit and it made the pain go away some. This time around, I am going all natural! I rather feel the pain for a few hours then to get poked again, and it making my back worse!

I mean, it was the worst pain I've ever felt but once it's over it's over. The epidural I seriously recommend you don't hardly feel nothing when they do it and it's such a relief ... The sooner yu get it the better cuz I waited till my contractions were real bad 7cm dialated to ask for it, I wish I would've got it sooner so I didn't have to feel tht strong of pain :/
