I plan on strictly breast feeding. no pumps. no bottles. and I bought pacifiers just in case. my step sisters both did the same in both their babies used a pacifier for a little while, not long though.

I plan on breastfeeding and I'm gonna use the nuk orthopedic pacifiers they are designed for breastfeeding babies to avoid nipple confusion. But I'm only getting one pack in case he don't like a pacifier. Research pacifiers for breastfeeding babies and read up on it and the different types out there it may make your decision easier

@denielle1224, that's what I plan to do also. That's why I'm scared to use a pacifier. I guess. I'm good to see how she does with breast feeding. If she has a good latch right away or if it's something we have to work with.

I'm gonna breastfeed I'm not buying no bottles or nothing at least for the first four weeks I don't wanna confuse baby! but hubby wants to buy at least a pack of pacis.

I'm breastfeeding and will only pump on weekends to let hubby get to bond with baby by feeding her too. I'm also getting NUK pacifiers that won't cause nipple confusion just incase she needs one. Hoping she can self soothe so I don't need to give her one

I think it is important to have some just in case but breast feeding properly is an on demand thing and I think other than nipple confusion the reason not to use pacifiers is the temptation to use one when baby is fussy and with a breast fed baby that is the time that you need to feed. I breast fed my last 2 babies and always had one on hand for the Times I could not feed but that was the only time I would use them

I took a lactation and breast feeding class cause I plan to the lady says wait at least 6 weeks before introducing a pacifier cause sometimes the baby will chose that over a real nipple since the longer you wait the stronger the bond between mommy and baby
