i just went through that. at my 36 week appt my blood pressure was high so they sent me to the hospital to monitor baby and my blood pressure & to do blood tests. everything seemed fine then when i went back for my 37 week check up it was high again so my doctor told me to come back in a little less than a week, i usually go in on thursday and i had to go in today im 38 weeks today & my blood pressure was perfect. hope it turns out the same for you.
He didn't say anything about a stroke or anything. i don't think it's that high. he also wants me on bed rest. I was nervous when I went in today because I've been having some pain down there so hopefully it was high because I was nervous. I'm getting blood work done right now.
they are most likely concerned of preeclampsia, thats what their fear was for me, if they tell you to pay attention to headaches or vision change and abdominal pain then they are looking to make sure you dont have preeclampsia. good luck @xaviersmommy
Make sure they check it sitting up and laying on your side. If it's normal on your side you're fine and DO NOT need to be in the hospital or induced. Mine was high sitting up or standing at the end because my son was too big. I still had a natural labor and birth.

Also ask of they can use a bigger cuff on you. My blood pressure shows a little bit higher on a smaller cuff.
