I need some help on how to handle something that isn't pregnancy related. It's mine and my boyfriends one year today and throughout our relationship (we are low income he's on disability) we have never don't anything big when it came to monthly anniversaries as some couples do. We just couldn't afford to do anything really. But now it's been one year, we have extra money and he started a paper route today and when I woke up he has a friend over to help him and wants to go to the gym and swimming with his buddy after... And I don't even think he has made any efforts for plans for today. All I want to do right now is just leave and go somewhere else... Cause I don't want to be disappointed. What do I do? Do I leave? Talk to him about it? Make plans for us? This is my first real relationship... I don't what to do... Advice please?

talk to him about it. does it have to be done today? can you make plans for like the weekend? my 2 year anniversary just passed on the 10 we didn't do anything but watch movies, which is more then we ever do together do to the fact that he works 3rd shift & sleeps most of the day. on the weekends which for him is Friday & Saturday, he works Friday & sleeps all day Saturday

@alegria10, of course we can make plans for another day, i think my problem is that since we haven't ever even been on many dates... I'm doubting he will do anything. I think it will have to be me doing the planning and making a date for us. Which I don't mind if I do have to. Would it be smart to do the plans for this one and then allow him to take over planning when it comes to Valentine's Day? (Again something we didn't do)

I would say talk to him about it. make plans together so he's not caught off guard that's want my fiance & I do. I think it would be alright for you to plan this one & let him do valentine's day. but you know men are a little slow sometimes so you might have to let him know that he should plan something for valentine's day. otherwise if he's not the romantic type you'll be disappointed

I would suggest you talk to him about it, walking away from the issue doesn't solve anything & probably gives him the hint that you're okay when you're really not. good luck with everything ! sorry I couldn't be much help with advice

I agree. Talk to him and make some plans together. I totally understand u feeling disappointed that he didn't plan nething tho. But rather than dwell on that make some plans and enjoy ur evening together:) hope u have a great time whatever u do! Even if u just go sit down eat dinner somewhere I love doing that it's not something we do often and I enjoy it so much when we do:)
