So I'm 3w 6d today and sooo excited! I had my first midwife appointment yesterday and after I left I realised I had a question that I wanted to ask and feel really stupid for asking lol - the midwife I see at my appointments in a clinic - what's the point of me seeing her because won't it be different midwives at the hospital where I give birth? She said I can always ring my midwife with questions etc but then she's not going to be my midwife is she? Confused?!?!?! Lol xx

I'm 34 weeks and I've never met my allocated hospital midwife. You will probably never meet the midwife who will be delivering your baby until you go into labour. The community midwife you will see for your appointments will deal with your general health throughout the pregnancy. This is usually the same midwife each time but even that isn't guaranteed. I met a lady a few months ago who was 37 weeks and she said she had never seen the same midwife twice.
