Does anyone know a recipe for laundry detergent for clothing and cloth diapers that is ok in an HE washer? I'd like to make my own but I'm leery of making something online that hasn't been tried in an HE washer.

I decided to do cloth diapers. This is my first child and my husband and I have very sensitive skin so we are trying to avoid anything that might be harsh for the baby and also want to save money.
So, has anyone done cloth diapers and have any stories or advice or anything on the matter?
Everyone I talk to about it mocks me and tells me it won't last long. At least give me pros and cons. Don't tell me I will fail. You don't even know me.
