Oh I’m furious!!!
My 7 yo was stabbed with a pencil in the rib cage at school yesterday by a little girl & admin has yet to call me!! How long do you typically wait for admin to contact you? I get calls almost daily and text messages almost daily when my nine-year-old is doing something wrong but yet when my seven year-old gets stabbed, nobody has called me.

It was my youngest son, yes he is okay just upset. I sent out an email to the principal vice principal and the teacher and asked what was going on and why I hadn’t been called yet and the vice principal basically said that the nurse called and that was enough to let me know about the situation 😳. I’m pretty freakin livid!! And apparently the teacher was not to present yesterday. There was a sub.

@m00my2five, I certainly hope this was the first and the last time that this little girl does this. Unfortunately, her and my son have kind of had a little bit of trouble in the past and she is in sped , so I don’t know how they would even go about that.
I'd be at the school. If my kid comes home and tells me something before the school does I'm on the phone
The nurse called me and told me that admin would get a hold of me but they didn’t do I emailed them. The principal said that they still followed the protocol by having the nurse call me because I still found out.. the little girl is in sped and her and my son have had drama with each other in the past. They told me they did issue consequences, but for obvious reasons they can’t tell me what or how.
Man, I would be rolling up to that school. Mama Bear claws would have come out. That is such bullshit. Yeah I go off on my kids school if they come home telling me they told their teacher they weren't feeling good or had to go to the nurse, and I do not get notified. That is absolute bs. Your kid got stabbed, that is way beyond anything. That is dangerous and life threatening. I would definitely be raising hell!
@feralwitchymom, @icebergahead, @supermomof4, I sent an email with the principal vice principal and the teacher involved and let them know that I’m pretty upset that nobody has contacted me so if I don’t hear from them in the next hour, then I am definitely going to be getting a hold of the school and getting down to the bottom of it because this is totally unacceptable. I did get a call from the nurse however to me that’s just not enough because the nurse is not able to call the other parent and get involved with it that way and issue consequences.
They should have called as soon as it happened

As an admin, I make sure my nurse knows to tell parents that I’ve been informed of an incident and will be investigating to put consequences in place. *Most* of the time I call the parent as well but, depending on what else is going on, I may not have the time to call. I could be sitting in on an unannounced CPS interview, dealing with a fistfight, or assisting with a medical issue. Sometimes this isn’t the top priority that I’m dealing with on a given day. As a parent, I totally get that it sucks not to get a call, but please be aware that there could have simply been bigger issues at play that day. When there a hundreds of kids, incidents need to be prioritized.
