My son is dyslexic. I noticed around age 3 when we started saying letters and writing but all teachers from age 3 - 9 said it's normal he will grow out of it. I finally this school year was told okay he's not growing out of it 🤦🏼♀️ . So I have an Iep for him and work with his teacher who is amazing. He always writes b, d, p, q, c, s, y backwards and all numbers are backwards. So like 15 is not only the 5 backwards but he puts it as 51 and reads it as 15 out loud
@mom2godzillaandwonkypets I think understand writing backwards. My daughter tries, she tried to write a the other day, but she was making the circle in the wrong direction so the stick ended up on the left side.
I'm just going to see how she progresses and speak up about it because I don't want her to struggle unnecessarily when it's not her fault. I feel a little ahead of myself, but I can't shake it. Worse comes to worse, I'm wrong. If not, I can advocate for early detection... idk. For now I'll just be paying attention.
Oh yeah, we have family history of diagnosed dyslexia, so I've paid close attention to my son and daughter. My son had none of these problems. As of right now, he reads, writes, and does math well.
@mujerstillregal yeah I knew before kindergarten it was not something he would grow out of but the teachers wouldn't listen and I wish they would have.
