When do you start letting your kids make their own plans?
I know like 95% of the friends that my oldest hangs out with (especially the ones that she sees outside of school). She's almost 10.5 and I recently told her that if she wanted to start doing things on the weekends with her friends that was fine. Just try to make plans by Wednesday or Thursday so I can reach out to the parents and confirm. She's been sitting at home with nothing to do and I just feel bad but at the same time I want her to get confident to make her own plans since middle school is around the corner. Maybe ten is too young though and I still need to schedule "playdates" for her.
