Planning my grandpas 80th birthday this Saturday. My dad’s dad. Very thankful to still have him.
Then in December I’ll start planning my grandmothers 80th birthday also. My mom’s mom. The grandmother who practically raised me.
I know a lot of people no longer have their grandparents and the fact my kids have great grandparents and are old enough to remember them is beyond amazing.

My uncle (mom’s brother) just turned 89…… I’m so envious of younger families who get to have relatives longer

I’m definitely seeing the differences. My husband has older parents so he was pretty little when he lost his grandparents. I was in 7th grade when my great grandmother died and everyone thought it was crazy I even had one still.

my grandparents all passed when I was in high school. My dad dies last year, I’ve lost cousins and aunts and uncles

it’s a huge difference. Now I see why way back in the day people started families young. I can also say I had my first at 17 and my last at 31 and wow they were so different. I had no energy at 31 and at 17 it didn’t phase me to stay up half the night and still work the next day.
