Would you let your friend bring her big dog with puppy energy into your brand new car with leather seats for an 8 hour round trip road trip? Or tell her no, leave the dog or don’t come at all? 😬 struggling here.
Would you want to sit in the back seat for hours with an energetic dog? Is she going to get your car detailed after and repair the seats if they get ruined? I’d just say no honestly. She can board him or find a sitter or different ride.
I would never ask to bring my big ass dog in your new car to go on an 8 hour road trip. Dogs belong home or safely boarded. Period. Traveling with dogs is how they get lost.
That crate is too big for my car. Also my son is in the back seat too. (Dog has its dog seatbelt). I personally feel the dog doesn’t have to go. But I understand why she wants him to come because we’re staying at a farm.
No, unless she’ll buy one of those dog seat cover things and clean ur car after. I would also make a decision by today (I see ur leaving Friday) if she has to find care for her dog while away.
@mybabybear, Right, I was going to suggest that she should pay for it. You may get it by Friday with 2 day prime shipping. Has she already paid for the hotel/any part of the trip? Was the original plan that she would drive herself so that she can bring her dog?
I wouldn’t want my leather seats to get damaged either so I would tell her in the nicest way possible that you’re not comfortable with the dog in the car. Is a rental car not an option for her?
@itskarina, yes, the plan was for her to drive herself with the dog and me and my kiddo in our own car, but someone hit the back of hers last week and no time to get it fixed in time. She asked to borrow her dads but it’s not fit for the ride. We both paid for the airbnb already. I’m fine if she doesn’t or does go tbh. Just don’t want strain on our friendship.
@mybabybear then no dog. I mean I have leather seats but I have a cover over them so emma doesn't mess them up and she has a seat belt but her energy makes driving dangerous at times. So I would tell her no if your not comfortable. Because if you definitely take that dog your new car will need a very deep clean after...hair, drool all in places you had no idea it could be lol
@mom2godzillaandwonkypets, it has covers but they’re thin and they are not fitted and I’m constantly fixing them after my kiddo. She does use the doggy seat belt for him. Do you think I can make it work with extra towels on the seats and the seatbelt. See, I’m struggling with myself lol.
