OK. My son recently turned 9. He got invited to his first bday party this year by a classmate. Idk the family but I know the student and she’s really sweet. I chaperone field trips. Do you let your 9 year old go to parties alone at a house??
Is this a recent times thing? I dont think I ever remembered kids’ parents staying at my house during parties, or mine staying at parties with me.
But anyways, my only kid is only 4 months old, so I have a lot of time to think about it. 😂 But I would probably stay stay if I didnt know the family very well.
That's a good point actually. My mom never stayed and vice versa. But we were a different breed back then and not so many nuts running around. We would go outside at 8am and come home at dusk with no cell phone and our parents had no clue how far we'd been on our bikes or how many canyons we explored. As long as we was home before dark LMAO. Too many psychos in this world now 😞
@ksmommyx3, 😂 I was never allowed to just run around by myself. But my dad was also a cop, so you know, he was very aware of the crazy stuff that was always going down everywhere.
Nope. I won’t bring my whole squad bc they weren’t all invited so I feel that’s wrong, but me or someone will accompany my child. My almost 11 year old just went to a classmates birthday & I was working, but my sister had gone with her & stayed. Parents definitely understand that. I know I would if any kids were invited to my house even just for a play date I’m absolutely gonna be fine with their parents wanting to hang out too.
Hard no for me. We just had a local case of an 11 year old kid being shot at a birthday party over some social media crap. If I don't know you well enough that we can have a conversation about if you have and how you store your guns/meds/alcohol, I don't know you well enough to trust my kid in your house.
