Как поддержать подростка?

A family member close to me who is 17 yrs old lost their boyfriend also 17 yrs old in a car accident the other day. He caught a ride with his friends instead of taking the bus home. It was raining out and the car he was in got hit from the back and spun out of control and under an 18 wheeler. He passed away at the scene. They lived together and that morning she was upset with him so didn’t tell him goodbye. When she was calling and texting him after school he wasn’t answering. Everyone had heard about this accident and to avoid the street and when he wasn’t answering, she checked his location and seen it was the same location as the accident. Her mom went to the scene and identified him. I feel so sad for her and of course his family and friends. We are worried about her because she use to cut herself and now we are worried she may hurt herself because she says she doesn’t want to live. I’ve been reaching out to her and telling her I love her and i’m here for her. What are some things I can do to let her know she is loved and her life matters? I can’t imagine having to endure this pain and especially at such a young age.

This is heartbreaking. It would be bad enough without the fact that they parted on bad terms making her feel incredibly guilty. My aunt in law has never gotten over the fact that 43 years ago her last words as a teenager to her brother when he was making her mad was to "drop dead" and he literally died of myocarditis within 48 hours. I think being there for her in the long run, even if she's really not very receptive, is most important. I am sure she is in total shock right now. Take her food, help her with housework and yardwork, anything like that.

This makes me sad for her💔 I am praying for her and the family. You're doing great just letting her know you're there. Just stay in touch with her, call and text often and if you're able maybe invite her over to your house, take her for a pedicure/manicure or massage or movie etc when she's up to it, maybe a haircut or something to pick her up idk just throwing ideas out there that you could do with her to get her minds off of things. I'm so so sorry for this tragedy. It is truly heartbreaking, especially at such a young age.
