Wish my company luck
I’ve been out sick since November 6th. I got sick working outside for them on November 5th. I am a type 2 diabetic with an auto immune disorder that makes things linger a little longer with me. I ended up with a sinus infection that turned into the rare flu b and covid. They’re trying to refuse me sick and covid pay.
Not happening….

They’re only trying to give me my three days sick pay and forgot we have a law in CA that you have to pay part time employees covid pay as well through the end of this calendar year. Covid pay doesn’t count against your sick pay

Did you get an official Covid test through the health department? I had to submit my positive test result to get Covid pay in 2020. They didn’t question it at all. What exactly is your company having issues with?

I did end up going and getting an official test just to cover my butt at work and submitted both my test results for having flu and covid at the same time last week.
I work in the cannabis industry, so I think the issue at hand is whether or not the company can get compensation, but I no longer do any HR work so I’m not sure exactly how covid pay reimbursement for businesses works here in CA. She’s stuck on I have 3 days sick pay, but according to what I’m being told the covid pay is separate and I’m challenging the sick pay rule. I sent her the covid pay laws for the state and am waiting on her response. If I don’t get covid pay, I can report them and I will

oh got it. Yes I’m sure they are having trouble getting it processed on their end, due to the type of business or whatever. Well I really hope it all works out for you because that’s a long time to be out of work!
